Alwyn Morris
Pencil drawing of Alwyn Morris, 1985, artist unknown

Alwyn Morris (born 1957) was a gold and bronze medal winner, with Hugh Fisher, in the kayak competition at the 1984 Olympic Games. On the podium, he held up an eagle feather to honour his grandfather and his Mohawk heritage. Involved in the promotion of athletics among native youth, Morris was awarded the 1992 Johnny F. Bassett Memorial Award, given to the Canadian amateur athlete who has displayed a combination of sporting excellence and community values that should be an inspiration to all.
