WOW

This Canada Day Go
West On Wellington

OTTAWA, June 21, 2000 - An exciting treasure hunt and a jazz concert are just two of the fun activities waiting for you when you go West On Wellington (WOW) this Canada Day, July 1st, between 9 am and 5 pm.

Just five minutes from Parliament Hill, the WOW partners - Supreme Court of Canada, National Archives of Canada, National Library of Canada, Bank of Canada Currency Museum and Elections Canada - invite you to join in the WOW Treasure Hunt, a passport and prize game for the whole family. With passport in hand, participants visit each site to find the answer to a simple question about each institution. They are then eligible to enter a draw for various unique prizes. Passports and contest boxes will be available at all five locations. The draw will take place at 4:30 pm in the main lobby of the National Archives/National Library, 395 Wellington St. in Ottawa.

Music lovers will not want to miss a free concert by the jazz trio LINGO. The concert begins at 2 pm in the National Archives/National Library auditorium. It is presented in cooperation with the embassies of the Federal Republic of Germany, Switzerland and Argentina.

Both events are part of a full day of WOW festivities that includes face painting for children, birthday cake and more. So be sure to make West on Wellington part of your plans for Canada Day!
