GOVERNOR GENERAL’S VISIT

Their Excellencies, the Governor General of Canada, Adrienne Clarkson, and John Ralston Saul, visited the Gatineau Preservation Centre on December 29, 1999. They were welcomed by the National Archivist, Ian E. Wilson, and engaged in conversation with several employees. They were able to view a broad selection of the Archives’ holdings and services, including audio-visual and photographic records featuring the Governor General herself. As a momento of her visit to the National Archives, the Governor General was presented with a copy of an interview she had with the CBC in 1966.
