Key Words Index and Report Summaries
In order to facilitate access to the results of the Indian Claims Commission's (ICC) work since its inception in 1991, the Commission created the Summaries and Key Words Index.
This publication includes a short summary of each completed inquiry and mediation report, and each summary contains a list of the significant events and concepts discussed in the report. An index of key words has been prepared, facilitating a search of the text of the summaries. This publication provides a tool for parties before the Commission (First Nations and Canada), as well as for researchers, policy-makers, the legal community and interested parties to access the wealth of historical and legal information and analysis contained within ICC's reports. Users should note that each of these summaries is intended for research purposes only. Please refer to the published reports, which are also available on this website, for the complete account.
As new reports are issued by the Commission, their summaries and the key words to them will be added to this publication.
It is the Commission's hope that this information assists readers to better understand its work and its unique contribution to the resolution of specific claims.
