Mr. Croteau at the fiftieth anniversary of Bonnyville
The fiftieth anniversary of Bonnyville
1912: Dances were held at Durlingville Hall once a month. The Hall was built by Emile Baril and Angelo Petoza. There were plays by local actors and also by a group from St. Paul, or the local group would go to St. Paul, St. Vincent and Cold Lake. (Poolroom). There were also good singers.

1913 A musical band was formed with local talents. The conductor was Carlsen and the member were Clarence Nomeland, Armstrong, Dan Collins, Anatole Mercier, Ben Berggy, Nomeland's brother in law, Shamrock, Angelo Petosa and Labrie.

1916 The Natives from Kehewin reserve would invite the new settlers to their annual Pow wow. It was a great event; they would go by horseback or horse buggy. They had mass at 10:30 a.m. In the afternoon, there were horse races, baseball, etc., and at night, Indian dances, quadrille etc. This would go part of the night, so you had to bring your own blankets and sleep in the tents. Mr. Charles Chartier from the Post Office "Fresnay", who had a General Store between Bonnyville Beach and Duclos, would bring some merchandise and sell it to the Indians and Whites at the Gurneyville Pow wow.
