Process and Media

So how does Christopher Pratt do what he does? Where does he even get his ideas? And once he gets an idea, how does he move from that idea to a finished work? These are all questions that will be answered in this section.

Inspiration
Pratt always starts his creative process with an idea. Pratt's ideas are based on memory and only the figure works are ever drawn from real life. This "inspiration" is always the first step in creating any work of art. Click on the icon to the left to discover more about Pratt's inspirational process and how his memories and experiences become the basis for his works of art.Studies

To bridge the gap between his ideas and the reality of making images, Pratt next goes through a process known as the study process. To find out more about the study process and how it fits in with the overall process of making an artwork, simply click on the icon to the right.

Finally, Pratt moves into the process of making the final image. Because he does not work in any one medium exclusively, the process for making the finished piece will depend on the medium. To see the process behind each medium Pratt works in, click on the appropriate icon below.
