Vikings

Freydis Eiriksdøttir

Freydis Eiriksdøttir was part of Thordarson's expedition. She was brave and fought the Native people. After the Vikings left Vinland and went back to Greenland she went on a new expedition with two brothers, Helgi and Finnbogi. They tried to start a new colony, but it also failed after one year.

Now Let Me Get This Straight…
Freydis was Eirikr the Red's daughter, hence the name Eiriksdøttir (Eirikr's daughter). Leifr was Eirikr the Red's son, Eiriksson (Eirikr's son). That would make Freydis Liefr's sister, right? Nope, she was actually his half-sister.

Don't Mess with Freydis
Freydis launched her own expedition, persuading Icelanders Helgi and Finnbogi to follow her to Vinland in their own ship. Once there, things didn't go smoothly. Freydis killed men and women from the Icelandic ship. All those left standing returned to Greenland.
