Henry Kelsey: On the Trail of Native Friends

Early Life

Very little is known about Henry Kelsey's early life. It is possible he came from East Greenwich, England, as that is where his wife and children were born, and where he died. The first event in his life that is known for sure is that he was an apprentice for the Hudson's Bay Company for four years, starting in March of 1684.
