The account which follows is a short, edited excerpt from the diary of Mrs. Susan Woodman of Alberton. Susan was the wife of Charlie Woodman who, in partnership with his brothers, George and Tom, owned a store in Alberton and a factory at Kildare Capes. It is an unpretentious yet informative chronicle of some of the events in the life of this one family and their friends during the month of December 1895.
