The Wawanesa Digital Collections proposal was written and conceptualized by Kris Paulson, the original Chairperson of the Wawanesa Community Access group. A contract was signed with Industry Canada in June, 1999 and the project began immediately. For more information about the team, please consult the credits section of the web site.

The "Wawanesa: A Prairie Heritage" site was created in order to increase the amount of information available on the internet about the town of Wawanesa, and about Prairie Life in general. The goal of the proposal is to make Prairie citizens more aware of their heritage, and to make people around the world more aware of the hardships the early settlers of the prairies had to endure.

We would like to thank Industry Canada, our contacts Guy Parent and Linda Redekop, and the entire Canada's Digital Collections team for their support in our proposal preparation and project creation days. As well, thanks go out to our technical support team.

Souris Valley School Division and Wawanesa School were kind enough to offer us space, computer hardware, and payroll services. Thanks go out to Keith Murray, Lloyd Paulson, and Mark Gillis.

We would also like to thank the Sipiweske Museum, and our contacts Margaret Martin, Marguerite Cory, Connie Granger, and Shirley McBurney. Finally, we would like to thank the Wawanesa Digital Collections Steering Committee, consisting of Kris Paulson, Keith Murray, Dean Boyd, Marguerite Cory, Connie Granger, Shirley McBurney, and Mick Mitchell. Without the support of these individuals, this project would not be the success that has become.
