Nesbitt-Burbank United Church
Just to the west of Wawanesa lies the small community of Nesbitt. Nesbitt has supported a church since 1892 when a fund raiser gathered enough money to erect the building. The church was Presbyterian in origin, and remained Presbyterian until 1925 when it became a United Church. The Nesbitt church swelled in size when, in 1966, the Burbank Church closed its doors and merged with Nesbitt’s congregation.

Burbank Church
In 1917, during World War I, a group of ladies in the Riverbank and Bertha districts worked together in a Red Cross group, knitting and sewing for the soldiers overseas. After the War, the group decided to found a memorial church affiliated with nearby churches. Services were held at this church until 1966 at which time Berbank Church closed its doors and merged with the Nesbitt United church.
