One of the late religious imprints by the Church of England in Cree. The text is in syllabic characters with roman letters on facing pages.

Copy with manuscript notes on the flyleaf which give the names of the previous owners, all of the same family: François Dugas in 1815, then his son Edouard Dugas (died in 1868), his son Father Georges Dugas (1833-1928), clerc de Saint-Viateur who gave it to his Order in 1915.

The first edition had been printed in Montreal by Fleury Mesplet in 1778. The very small size of these works permitted worshippers to carry them everywhere. The following inscriptions allow us to trace its many owners: "Josette Latrimouille, Montréal, 4 mars 1828"; "Marie-Claire Daveluy arrière petite-nièce de Mesdames Josette et Sophie Latrémouille. Montréal mai 1914"; and "Present from my sister Josette Latrémouille. Montreal, May 5 1829, Sophie Campbell."

Handbook designed to help altar boys and other persons assisting the priest during the religious services. These books were used long after their date of publication. This copy was owned in 1862 by Louis Baril, of Gentilly, 30 years after the initial publication.
