$20,000 Wage Subsidies for Agriculture and Biology Related Companies

Every summer the Federal Government begins announcing which industry sectors are receiving funding to support the sector’s growth. Fortunately, the government has acknowledged the strong capacity and potential of the broad bio-economy and has renewed funding to the Biotalent Career Focus Program.

This program supports the hiring of recent post-secondary graduates by companies with positions related to biotechnology, biology, and agriculture. Successful program applicants will be provided with up to $20,000 in wage subsidies for up to 50% of a new hire’s salary. Whether your company needs research assistants or someone to market your new biotechnology, there’s a funding opportunity available.

There are a few program requirements. Applicant companies must be in the private sector, Canadian, and looking to hire a new full time employee with the intention of keeping the new hire on after the funding period ends. The position must be related broadly to biotechnology. When considering candidates, companies must hire post-secondary graduates who have graduated within the last 3 years and are under the age of 30.

So if you think that your company could use an energetic new employee to boost capacity then you should sit down to start writing your application. However, if you’d prefer to do the biotechnology work you love and not spend all your time writing applications and filling out forms, then we’d encourage you to get in touch with us. BIG Funding Inc. has had the privilege of working with dozens of bio-related companies to submit successful applications.

BFI is a member of the Business Improvement Group, a group of companies that looks to find funding for companies through SR&ED, tax credits, and grant programs. We’ll do all the heavy lifting for you.
