Bravo on the publication of your clinical practice guidelines for the care and treatment of breast cancer. This information will go a long way in educating health care professionals who have little or no knowledge of this condition.

The CPG recommendations for more objective scientific research on treatment options should be welcomed by patients with lymphedema and health care practitioners alike, many of whom are currently searching for concrete and reliable information in this area. It would be truly wonderful to see the new Canadian Institutes of Health Research following up on the CPG recommendations by dedicating some of its funds to research in this much neglected part of our bodies - the lymphatic system - for the benefit of breast cancer survivors and the many others in Canada who have a lymphatic disorder due to other causes.
