In response to: The efficacy of stethoscope placement when not in use: traditional versus "cool"

It seems to me that the debate over cool vs traditional placement of stethoscopes has only scratched the surface of this important issue. There are several possible case:control studies that could be inspired by this ground-breaking article. For example:
  1. Impairment of clinical judgement secondary to vascular compression by traditional stethoscope placement
  2. Length of time spent talking to patients compared to time actually spent listening to them (with a stethoscope) by placement group. Hypothesis: Traditional placement group would spend more time listening
  3. Perception of exactly who has their baseball cap on backwards by placement group.

I enjoyed this issue. Perhaps I'll have to dust off my copy of ECMO at the roadside...
