I was in Grade 8, in 1948, where my teacher, Al Goheen, a wonderful man, explained to us the workings of the 'wood', and it's animals. His love of Pooh and his explanations of the daily exploits of Tigger, and all the others, gave all of us a great learning tool, which I still use, when I read Pooh today.

The Psychiatrists however are a different ball of wax. We were to have (in 1953), a first lecture by a Psychiatrist, who was 20 minutes late. He apologized for for that first time and any time in the future, that he might be late. Needless to say, staff always had to watch where he hung his hat & coat, left briefcase, or parked his car. I would take Pooh and his friends any day. There was logic, compassion, love, laughter, mystery, friends, enemies to watch for. Pooh helped those grade 8's, and I know that several of my classmates, still appreciate our teacher, Al Goheen, Wallaceburg, ON
