eLetters: Pooh Analysis & Criticisms

As with another correspondent, I went hunting for this web site after seeing a report of the 'study' elsewhere, in the hope of being able to see it in its entirety; and I'm sorry for those who expressed unbridled criticism that they apparently have no sense of humor or just take themselves and their work too seriously. I found it both funny and containing a grain of truth -- that it seems just about everyone, no matter how well he or she seems to function in the world, can be found to fit within one or many criteria in DSM-IV and there's a real danger the profession may take itself too seriously or go too far in its desire to find and 'fix' the real problems, failing to realize that there may be a degree of 'dysfunctionality' which makes life bearable and makes it possible to live an otherwise 'healthy' life in the world.
