Abstract
The issues surrounding assisted suicide and euthanasia are now
being debated
in a new forum, the Internet. DeathNET, the creation
of two activists from
Canada and the US, provides up-to-date information on court cases
and
legislation concerning these topics. In Canada, the federal
government appears
reluctant to bring the issues to a vote in the House of Commons,
but John
Hofsess, one of DeathNET's founders, says
politicians won't be able to duck
them forever.

Les enjeux liés au suicide assisté et à
l'euthanasie font
maintenant l'objet d'un débat sur une nouvelle tribune,
Internet.
Créé par deux militants du Canada et des
États-Unis,
DeathNET fournit de l'information à jour sur
des affaires dont sont
saisis les tribunaux et sur des mesures législatives qui
ont trait
à ces enjeux. Au Canada, le gouvernement
fédéral semble
hésiter à soumettre ces enjeux à un vote
à la
Chambre des communes, mais John Hofsess, un des fondateurs de
DeathNET,
affirme que les politiciens ne pourront s'esquiver
éternellement.
