Gavanski, Milan S., Richmond, BC; University of Zagreb (Yugoslavia), 1952; psychiatry; FRCPC; former visiting staff, Vancouver General, Children's and St. Vincent's hospitals. Died May 30, 1999, aged 74.

Harvie, Douglas A., Collingwood, Ont.; University of Toronto, 1926; general practice; MCFP; RCAMC, WW II; former chief of staff, Collingwood Hospital; founding member, College of General Practice of Canada. Died Nov. 19, 1999, aged 96; survived by his wife, Madeleine, and 1 daughter. "He was a bush doctor out of Chapleau, Ont., in 1927 and 1928," his obituary stated. "Having practised during the Depression and before medicare, he thought that one of the best changes in medical practice was the introduction of universal, publicly funded health care."

McCormick, G. Ralph, Oldcastle, Ont.; University of Ottawa, 1956; general surgery; FRCSC; former cardiovascular surgeon, Windsor Regional Hospital. Died Nov. 25, 1999, aged 73; survived by his wife, Dolores, and 6 children.

Mohacsy, Jeno, North York, Ont.; Debrecen University (Hungary), 1950; MCFP; former staff, North York General and Central hospitals. Died Dec. 7, 1998, aged 74; survived by his wife, Raz.
