Died Feb. 5, 2000, aged 68; survived by his wife, Mary, and 4 children.

Died in a motor vehicle accident Mar. 1, 1999, aged 79; survived by his wife, Ann, 1 son and 2 stepchildren. He represented Germany in the 1936 Olympics.

He was a member of the National Advisory Council on Smoking and Health and served as president of the Canadian Council on Smoking and Health.

His obituary stated: "He had a rare combination of faith and empathy that allowed him to soothe the psyche as well as the body."

Wolfe, William J., North Battleford, Sask.; University of Dublin (Ireland), 1942; DRCOG; RAMC, WW II; Military Cross; former staff, Battleford Union Hospital; senior member, CMA. Died of heart failure Jan. 16, 2000, aged 80; survived by 8 children.
