Died Oct. 13, 2000, aged 90.

Evans, John G., North York, Ont.; University of Toronto, 1952; orthopedic surgery; FACS, FRCSC; former staff, St. Michael's Hospital; attending staff, Scarborough Centenary Hospital; assistant professor of surgery, University of Toronto. Died Dec. 14, 2000, aged 75; survived by 5 children and Sammy the dog. His obituary stated: "He was a naval aviator, surgeon, friend and gentle man."

George, J. Alexander, Antigonish, NS; McGill University, 1949; diagnostic radiology; ABDR; former chief, Department of Radiology, St. Martha's Hospital; staff, St. Michael's Hospital; team physician, St. Francis Xavier football and basketball teams; president, Nova Scotia Medical Society. Died Nov. 1, 2000, aged 77; survived by his wife, Margaret, and 9 children. His obituary stated: "He raised prized cattle and was the lifetime president of the Canadian Aberdeen Angus Association. He and his wife co-developed the summer fine arts program at Mount Cameron, known as Silver Glen Art Holidays. It won the Entrepreneur of the Year Award from the Nova Scotia Department of Tourism and was given special recognition as one of the top 10 vacations in Canada."

Gidwaney, Ashok, Edmonton; University of Calcutta (India) 1975; FRCPC; anesthesia; former staff, Grey Nuns Community Health Centre. Died Oct. 8, 2000, aged 53; survived by his wife.

Graham, W. Hugh; University of Belfast (Northern Ireland), 1952; anesthesia; FRCPC; Royal Artillery, WW II; former anesthetist, Royal Alexandra Hospital; first medical director, W.W. Cross Cancer Institute, Edmonton. Died Nov. 14, 2000, aged 78; survived by his wife, Bea, and 3 daughters. Colleague Nicholas Rety recalled: "His feisty good humour lifted everyone's spirit during those long hours in the operating room. In retirement he lived in Brentwood Bay close to things he loved: his sailboat and the sea."

Hamilton-Smith, Barry A., North York, Ont.; University of London (England), 1954; family medicine; CCFP; former staff, St Michael's Hospital; assistant professor, Department of Family and Community Medicine, University of Toronto. Died Oct. 4, 2000, aged 73; survived by his wife, Joan.

Hébert, Georges, Westmount (Qué.); Université de Montréal, 1933; médecine interne; ancien expert-conseil à l'Hôpital Notre-Dame; membre émérite de l'AMC. Décédé le 14 septembre 2000, à l'âge de 92 ans.

Keladinou-Assimes, Irene, Mont-Royal, Que.; University of Athens (Greece), 1965; general practice; former staff, Montreal Children's Hospital. Died Oct. 28, 2000, aged 61; survived by her husband.

Lefebvre, Roger, Rosemère (Qué.); Université de Montréal, 1951; anesthésie; FRCPC; ancien member du personnel de Centre hospitalier St-Laurent et Centre hospitalier Notre-Dame de l'Espérance. Décédé le 21 octobre 2000, à l'âge de 75 ans; laisse son épouse, Thérèse Lemelin et quatre enfants.

Died Nov. 5, 2000, aged 91; survived by his wife, Dorothy, and 2 children. His obituary stated: "He and Dorothy skied until well into their 80s."

Minhas, Kushal K., Swift Current, Sask.; Punjab University (India), 1967; general practice; LRCP(Lond.), MRCS(Eng.); former staff, Swift Current Regional, Herbert-Morse Union and Ponteix Union hospitals; courtesy staff, Medicine Hat Regional Hospital; physician, Palliser Regional Care Centre. Died Oct. 26, 2000, aged 59.

Moulds, Godfrey G., Ottawa; Queen's University, 1942; surgery/obstetrics; RCAMC, WW II; former staff, Grace Hospital; courtesy staff, Queensway–Carleton Hospital; emeritus staff, Ottawa Civic Hospital; Gold Medal for Surgery, Queen's University. Died Oct. 24, 2000, aged 83; survived by 3 children and 6 stepchildren. The Ottawa Citizen reported: "He was in the community for such a long time he delivered generations of patients. He even delivered his future son-in-law."

Saine, Joseph, Grimsby, Ont.; Université Laval, 1939. Décédé le 24 octobre 2000, à l'âge de 89 ans.
