This video dramatizes situations which workers who serve the public are likely to encounter, showing both successful and unsuccessful ways of handling these situations. Also dramatized are situations in which employees are clearly behaving in an incompetent manner, such as the sales clerk who is so busy chatting with his friends that he completely ignores a customer who requires help. A narrator introduces and summarizes each segment and gives key training points illustrated by each dramatization.

Each segment is divided from the next by a brief fade-out, making it easy for the instructor to stop the video for class discussion. The accompanying discussion guide suggests questions that the instructor may wish to ask to initiate discussion.

The video has good technical quality and has been produced by very experienced people. The content is appropriate for its intended audience--young people just entering the work force, including anyone from about fourteen to eighteen. The video could be used by high school guidance counsellors, both with regular classes and with groups such as students doing work experience and those taking business education.

Recommended.
