The ELC offers English for Academic Purposes (EAP) part time courses.

EAP Course Information
- General Information
- 30 instructional hours in length
- Focus on specific language skills such as
- speaking
- writing
- Offered in Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer sessions
- EAP courses are grouped into two sections
- Oral English for Academic Purposes
- Academic Writing
- EAP courses are offered for post-secondary non-native English speaking students and professionals in the community who want to improve their English language skills. Students must be at least 17 years of age to register.

- Our Instructors
- Instructors of the English Language Centre have completed graduate work in the area of Teaching English as a Second Language and are experienced in teaching English for Academic Purposes.
- Applications Processing
- Applications are processed on a first-come-first-served basis. Class enrolment is limited, so early registration is recommended. Registration will be accepted up to the beginning of the course if space is available.
- No post-dated cheques will be accepted
- Confirmation
- Students must confirm, on the Friday before their class, that the class they have chosen has been fully subscribed.
- The University reserves the right to cancel any course and refund fees in full if registration is insufficient.
- Dropping the Course
- If a student is unable to attend the course and must withdraw
- the student must request a refund in writing
- the written request must be accompanied by the original receipt and will be subject to the following policy:
- request for refund will be processed, less a $10.00 withdrawal fee
- no refunds will be granted after the first class has been completed
- If a student is unable to attend the course and must withdraw
- Textbooks
- Available in the U of M Bookstore and should be purchased before the first class
