Grade Levels: all

Fees: standard

Classroom Approach:
For the visit, students should prepare a few lines. Marianne begins her visit by giving a brief talk about why she thinks poetry is vital for everyone to a) write and b) read. Then she reads her poetry to illustrate how poems allow us emotional, social, political and spiritual scope. Then they rejoice together in some of the students work. The students are then asked if they would like to send her their poetry after the visit for her to read. She has made a few wonderful young poet friends that way.
