As a retired classroom teacher, Terry Ann Carter is in the unique position of understanding curriculum (and lack thereof). She is available for presentations on a wide range of poetic topics: The Beat Poets (senior classes) Langston Hughes and an introduction to the Blues, "The People's Poetry" of Dorothy Livesay and Milton Acorn or an introduction to Japanese literary form: haiku, senryu, tanka, renga. Terry Ann will give readings of her own work plus creative writing workshops. She prefers to meet with the host teacher to arrange lessons/workshops, or whatever is desirable, and leaves lesson ideas and poem cards for the host school.
