Pauline Michel

Pauline Michel was born and raised in the beautiful Eastern Township region of Quebec. The youngest of a large family, she became interested in writing and the performing arts at an early age.  Her first novel, Les yeux d'eau, was published in 1975. Since then she has published additional novels, a collection of poetry and educational textbooks. She loves the stage and has spent considerable time performing her own original music and texts in Quebec, Africa and throughout France.  She has worked as a teacher and has been involved with film and television shows - both as a contributing writer and actress.  She has written and sung for both adults and youth, and her video  and CD Le tour du monde is a hit with children. Today, she makes her home in Montreal where she pursues her writing and valiantly tries to keep pace with the considerable demands of her appointment as the Poet Laureate of Canada. She tries to break down the barriers between the various ages of life, which she feels are nothing but a shift in time through the various stages of existence.
