UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT

The Trumpeter is pleased to introduce its new editorial leadership: as of January 2013, Jorge Conesa-Sevilla has moved into the position of editor-in-chief. Dr. Conesa-Sevilla is a co-founder of the European Ecopsychology Society and now lives and writes in Maui. He is supported by managing editor Nathan Kowalsky, Assistant Professor of Philosophy at St. Joseph’s College, University of Alberta, and by assistant managing editor Richard Kover, PhD candidate at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Belgium. The Trumpeter also wishes to express its profound gratitude for the many years of service of Michael Caley, outgoing editor-in-chief, who will continue on as narrative co-editor for the journal.

Founded in 1983 by Alan Drengson of the University of Victoria, The Trumpeter is one of the oldest environmental philosophy journals in the world. Its contributors have included such luminaries as Wes Jackson, Wendell Berry, Warwick Fox, Tom Birch, Gary Snyder, Bill Devall, Dave Foreman, Holmes Rolston, III, Michael Zimmerman, Arne Naess, George Sessions, Dolores LaChapelle, Monika Langer, David Abram, Mary Midgley, Valerius Geist, Neil Evernden, Robyn Eckersley, Freya Matthews, Tom Regan, David Suzuki, Michael Soulé, Jim Cheney, Marti Kheel, Catriona Sandilands, Anthony Weston, and Vandana Shiva. It carries forth a proud tradition of philosophically exploring and analysing environmental concerns at every relevant level.

The editors wish to encourage high-quality academic submissions for peer review within the scope of the journal, especially deep ecology, eco-phenomenology, eco-psychology, ecofeminism, primitivism, and other forms of ‘radical’ environmental theory. In addition to scholarly articles, The Trumpeter also publishes poetry, narratives, cartoons, and book reviews. The editors welcome suggestions for special issues, and are eager to refresh the journal’s roster of peer reviewers and book reviewers. Please direct all correspondence to Trumpeter.Journal@gmail.com.
