On Friday, January 25, 2008, Library and Archives Canada hosted the first meeting in Ottawa of the LAC Forum on Canadian Democracy Advisory Committee. The agenda for the day addressed the context of LAC's new initiative and helped to define the Forum's opportunities and objectives as it seeks to connect Canadians with historical and contemporary information pertaining to Canada's democratic experience. On Thursday, November 29, 2007, the LAC Forum on Canadian Democracy was launched at an event entitled Legacies and Legends: Prime Ministers and Their Memoirs.
