Forensic Accounting Management Group (FAMG)

FAMG provides specialized forensic accounting services to national and international governments, law enforcement agencies and prosecution services on criminal investigations with financial elements, such as white collar crime, proceeds of crime, commercial crime, money laundering, securities market fraud, organized crime, and terrorist activities.

Our services are provided by highly trained forensic accountants through specialized advice, detailed reports, and expert witness testimony on the financial aspects of criminal investigations. FAMG has about 50 employees in 17 cities across Canada, and provides the services on a cost-recovery basis.

"Forensic" means suitable for use in a court of law, and our organization provides specialized forensic accounting services by identifying, analyzing, and explaining complex financial and accounting elements of criminal activities in an objective, independent and non-technical manner, thus helping judges and juries make informed decisions.

Our People

Our forensic accountants are highly skilled, experienced, and certified (Chartered Accountants, Certified Management Accountants, and Certified General Accountants), who have specialized in the field of forensic accounting. In addition to their significant experience working in the domain, most of our forensic accountants have completed, or are in the process of completing, specialized professional designations, including:

  • Diploma in Investigative and Forensic Accounting
  • Certified Fraud Examiner
  • Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist

FAMG forensic accountants are also required to participate in ongoing education and training programs to remain current with developments in the field, as well as to supplement their knowledge base and expertise.

FAMG - Supporting the Canadian Criminal Justice System

FAMG supports Canada's efforts of fighting crime by assisting law enforcement agencies and prosecution services in identifying and stopping the flow of money criminals make from illegal activities. The organization also supports government efforts to identify and prosecute those who commit crimes against Canada's securities market through, for example, Ponzi schemes, bankruptcy frauds and insider trading. The prosecution of these cases, in which FAMG is involved, is key deterrents that help maintain the integrity of our securities markets.
