Disclosure of Grants and Contributions

Overview

On October 21, 2005, the Government announced its commitment to proactively disclose the awarding of grants and contributions over $25,000 as part of its Management Improvement Agenda. In accordance with the Treasury Board Transfer Payments Policy, this website provides information on grants and contributions of more than $25,000 which were awarded by, or on behalf of, Public Works and Government Services Canada. Beginning May 31st, 2006, and every three months thereafter, this website will be updated to include information on grants and contributions of more than $25,000 awarded during the previous quarter. These new requirements represent a continuation of the phased introduction of proactive disclosure requirements that started with those relating to travel and hospitality expenses, contracts for goods and services, and position reclassification information.

The rules and principles governing government grants and contributions are outlined in the Treasury Board Transfer Payments Policy.
