A problem has been identified with certain transactions of the Public Service Health Care Plan that were processed on the Compensation Web Application and remained in Pending finalization status. Our team is presently working on resolving this situation but in the meantime, no modification can be process for the accounts affected by this problem. Furthermore, be advised that Public Works and Government Services Canada has updated the accounts with Sun Life given these employees access to use their member cards and/or send their claims.
Once the Web application will be available for the accounts affected a new notice will be published.

We have identified two problems with some transactions processed in the Compensation Web Application for the Public Service Health Care Plan. Some transactions have a status of Pending finalization and others, rejected with error code U42. Public Works and Government Services Canada is currently working on a solution to correct the transactions rejected with error code U42. You will be advised when the issue will be corrected. On the other hand, transactions with Pending finalization status still need to be reported to Application and Program Support - Pay in order to get them manually corrected.

Please be advised that the ECOPASS program will be terminating effective November 1, 2013. The final deduction of the code 734 will be taken in the first pay cycle of October 2013, which covers the October transit usage only. PWGSC will process a bulk stop of the deduction on October 21, 2013 and any reconciliation of outstanding arrears must be settled no later than the first pay cycle of October 2013.

Please note that an incident has occurred in the Regional Pay System that will have an impact on the production of paper pay stubs for the next pay period (PP14). Please advise your clients that there may be a 2-3 day delay in the distribution of paper pay stubs. Employees will be able to print their pay stubs using Compensation Web Applications.

As per the Addressing Guidelines of Canada Post, changes have been implemented to the Pay Action Code 22 and to the Mailing Address - Cheques (MAC). As a result "Amend" function is no longer accepted. The postal code should be seven characters in ANA NAN format. A one time fix will be implemented in the system if the existing postal code has 6 characters in ANANAN format. The Personnel-Pay Input Manual (PPIM) 4-4-22 and 14-12-4 are being updated. Please check with "What's new".

This is a reminder that deduction code 660 for the Social Science Employees Association is obsolete; deduction code 632 for the Canadian Association of Professional Employees (CAPE) should be used instead. Please refer to Compensation Directive 2006-007 for the procedures.

Please note that this year, annual maintenance will be conducted at the Aviation Parkway Data Center (APDC) starting 05:00 PM Saturday, July 6, 2013, until 11:00 AM on Sunday, July 7, 2013 (CET). Systems services will be unavailable during this specified scheduled period, to allow maintenance activities to take place.

To avoid errors when updating an address in the Mailing Address - Cheques (MAC) field, please do not use the amend modifier "A". Rather, stop the MAC using modifier "S" to delete the existing address. Then in the next update, use the commence modifier "C" to enter the new address. Please refer to the Personnel-Pay Pay Input manual (PPIM) Chapter 14-12-4 for further instruction.

New! The option to re-start the printing of the paystub on the Compensation Web Application (CWA) site for employee has been removed. When an employee has suppressed the printing of their paystub through the CWA stop printing of the paystub option, there will no longer be an option to re-start once removed. Only Compensation Advisors will be able to re-start by changing the Direct Deposit Payment (DFT) code to a 1 in field 71 (see the Personnel-Pay Input Manual (PPIM) sections PPIM 14-2-1).
