As most of you know, a GO/NO-GO assessment was held for Release 2.0 on February 14th, 2011. Following an extensive examination of both the solution and the organizational readiness, the decision was made to defer the implementation of Release 2.0 to April 11th, 2011. Since this decision, the overall stability of the solution has improved significantly. A second GO/NO-GO assessment, held on March 23rd, confirmed that the implementation of the core pension system (Penfax) will be taking place on April 11th. Implementation of the Data Capture Tool (DCT), for organizations not using the Regional Pay System (RPS), will follow on May 2nd, 2011.

In preparation for the April 11th implementation of the new Penfax system, effective April 1, access to the Pension Support System (PSS) and Contributor Verification Systems is no longer be available. Please note that the Contributor Inquiry System will be available, for inquiry purposes only, until Release 2.5. A compensation directive is in the final approval stages and will be posted shortly. As well, a message to employees (plan members) is being prepared for distribution by the departments, agencies and Crown corporations.
