Departmental Security

A part of the RCMP's Technical Operations, the Departmental Security organization is responsible for the security programs adopted by the RCMP, ensuring that the RCMP complies with federal government security policy and standards, and operates in a safe and secure environment. Specifically we are responsible for developing, implementing, maintaining, coordinating, and monitoring the RCMP's security programs.

As part of our role to develop security policy for RCMP operations and administration, we establish policy and procedures for the security of many RCMP initiatives, including the security of personnel, facilities, documents and data, computers, networks, communications, threat and risk assessments, and business continuity planning.
