International Corruption

Under Canadian law, it is illegal to bribe a foreign public official to obtain or retain advantage in the course of business. For further details, please see the Corruption of Foreign Public Officials Act.

Pursuant to Canada's October 2007 ratification of the United Nations Convention Against Corruption, the RCMP Commercial Crime Program implemented two anti-corruption investigative teams.

To report an offence under the Corruption of Foreign Public Officials Act, please contact the RCMP Anti-Corruption Unit in Ottawa (613-991-4331) or go to the RCMP's Reporting Economic Crime On -Line website.
