Welcome to “Depot” Division

Since 1885, the RCMP Academy, “Depot” Division in Regina, Saskatchewan has been training members of our national police force.

The tradition continues; presently all cadets of the RCMP undergo their initial Basic Training here, but there is more. We also provide training to various national and international law enforcement and regulatory agencies. This led to creation of the National Law Enforcement Training Program (NLET), which undertakes such training or facilitates the inclusion of external candidates into our regular troops.

The Police Dog Service Training Centre is also part of “Depot” Division. Situated in Innisfail, Alberta—just south of Red Deer—this world renowned centre prepares teams of police service dogs and their handlers for various duties across Canada. The centre also breeds and rears the pups.

The RCMP Academy is a historic place. For many years, it was the headquarters of the North West Mounted Police and then the Royal North West Mounted Police. Today, Depot and the RCMP Heritage Centre are among "top attractions or places to visit in North America".
