Office of the Chief Information Officer - Technology

Chief Information Officer Sector (CIO) is responsible for the RCMP's Information Management and Information Technology (IM/IT) program including all information necessary to carry out the organization's mandate, as well as the systems used to access, communicate, record, share and manage this information.

Priorities:

• implement the new Police Reporting and Occurrence System (PROS)
• provide secure communications channels through the National Radio Program
• develop the National Integrated Interagency Information System (NIII) to support broader information sharing among all law enforcement partners
• implement Real Time Identification (RTID) Project to completely re-engineer criminal record and fingerprint identification processes with turnaround times within days
