Weekly Checklist Frequently Asked Questions

How do I order from the Weekly Checklist?

To order from the Weekly Checklist, you must be a designated Depository Library with a Depository Number assigned by the Depository Services Program (DSP).

What is allotment?

Allotment is the total number of copies of an item that a Selective Depository Library may order from a Weekly Checklist.

The last two digits of the Depository Number indicate your allotment. For example, the library JS12345601 has an allotment of 1 copy per item per Weekly Checklist.

Can I order more than once from the same Weekly Checklist?

Yes, you may place multiple orders from the same Weekly Checklist as long as you have not surpassed your allotment quantity.

If you require more copies of an item than your allotment allows, or you wish to order replacement copies, you may purchase copies (if available) from our catalogue by following the order instructions for the general public.

Why are the publications I ordered on backorder even though I ordered them through the Weekly Checklist?

The number of copies received from the author department for distribution via the DSP is ultimately determined by the author department. Orders from the Weekly Checklist are processed on a first-come, first-served basis. As a result, some orders, although submitted before the ten-week deadline, may be placed on backorder due to insufficient stock.

How do I place a claim for an item ordered from the Weekly Checklist?

Electronic submission of claims is now available for Depository Libraries. Please refer to our claims procedures for Depository Libraries.
