    Welcome

Welcome to the home page of the Canadian Mineral Society, Canada's national association for professional and avocational collectors of Canadian and worldwide mineral specimens. Content will be added to the website on an ongoing basis.

Please be aware that portions of the website require time to develop. The mineral localities index is a long term project that will span over many years. Now and then we will also add web links to online mineral databases in Canada and around the world. Members may request their online mineral databases be linked to our society website.

    Forming a Chapter:

Members can freely organize a local or provincial chapter of the society. Chapters should only be formed if there is genuine interest by members. Chapters should operate on an informal basis. There is no need to establish an executive or engage in administration. When creating a chapter, please notify society members.

    Meetings:

Members of a chapter may organize meetings on a regular or irregular basis. Meetings should be conducted on an informal basis. Furthermore, it is not necessary for a chapter to meet.

    Raising funds for Events:

A chapter may raise and manage its own funds for an event. However, the Canadian Mineral Society will not manage or assume responsibility for funds collected, and neither will it assume any liabilities incurred by a chapter.

    Organizing Events
