Bryson's review of Does Canada Matter by Clarence Bolt
June 2, 2003
to Michael Bryson
I read your review for Clarence Bolt's book, Does Canada Matter? You stated that due to his evidence that Canada does not matter. I have taken many classes with Clarence and including the class he prescribes this very book, if you read it a little more carefully you would understand that what Clarence is saying is that Canada DOES matter. He states that very clearly at the end of his "extended essay". Clarence feels that Canada matters because it is a country unlike any other. He addresses the Modern Project and Neo-Liberalism so that we as Canadians can save what we have by strengthening our communities and standing up to Big Brother. Perhaps it will take another reading for you to understand what Clarence was really getting at.
Sincerely,
Katie McCullough
