5,000 positions in the Canadian tourism and hospitality
industries remain unfilled as a result labour shortages.
At recent conferences in Moncton and Ottawa, senior tourism
industry representatives were told that by the year 2020
almost a million positions in all industries would be unfilled.

Woman Achieves First Class Power Engineer
Barb Romancia, a long-time Thompson resident who works
in the Power House at Inco Ltd., Manitoba Division, and
has been an employee of the company for the past 26 years,
has just been awarded her First Class Power Engineer Certificate
after 18 years of study and hard work.
