CSH on the Web Celebrates Six MonthsCanadian Subject Headings (CSH), the National Library of Canada's list of some 6000 standard subject headings (in English) relating to Canada, has been available free of charge on the Web since October 2000. CSH on the Web can be found on the National Library's Web site at www.nlc-bnc.ca/cshweb/index-e.htm. CSH on the Web is updated monthly and provides full authority records displayed in both MARC 21 and thesaurus formats. Browsing, exact and keyword searching are available options. CSH headings can be accessed from their French-language equivalents drawn from the Répertoire de vedettes-matière (RVM). To make CSH on the Web more useful, a new feature has recently been added: an archived version of each update of the Monthly List of New and Modified Records in CSH on the Web, which can be found at www.nlc-bnc.ca/cshweb/nmodif-e.htm. The National Library is appreciative of the variety of questions and comments received about CSH on the Web. Statistics on the use of this Web site indicate a high degree of interest in this product. We look forward to the continued development of this Web product as new authority records are added and user awareness of it grows. For questions concerning the content of CSH, its policies, available products, or the presentation and functionality of the Web site, please contact Editor, Canadian Subject Headings |
