Online Application Forms Improve Services Offered to Canadian Publishers

David Balatti, Director, Bibliographic Services

The National Library of Canada’s Canadian ISBN Agency is pleased to report that application for ISBN assignments can now be made online. First-time publishers will find a newly designed, easy to complete form at www.nlc-bnc.ca/isbn/isbnappe.htm. The application process and assignment can now be completed in a matter of a few hours.

Staff of the Bibliographic Services Directorate where the ISBN and CIP offices are located expect to have an interactive online application form for CIP data in place by the end of June. Check Services for Publishers on the Library’s Web site (www.nlc-bnc.ca/services/epubl.htm) to see if we met our goal!
