A Diary between Friends

Prime Minister Jean Chrétien presents the legal deposit copies of A Diary between Friends to National Librarian Roch Carrier at a Parliament Hill event last December. The commemorative book celebrates the many acts of kindness and generosity shown by Canadians to Americans in the hours and days following the tragic events of September 11. Canadian Heritage Minister Sheila Copps and United States Ambassador to Canada Paul Cellucci join the Prime Minister in making the presentation.
