Public Health Reporting Study

Stethoscope

The public health reporting study focus on the reporting of enteric disease data once a case has been reported to the local health authority. The primary aims of the NSAGI Public Health Reporting Study were to:

  • To quantify the number of cases captured at the local health authority interface and the number transferred to the provincial level.

  • To examine the variation in reporting practices within and between local health authorities and discuss how this variation may impact on the interpretation of provincial and national surveillance data.

The NSAGI Public Health Reporting Study was sent to all Public Health Units/Regions in Ontario and British Columbia. The remaining provinces will be included during the roll-out phase of the study.
