Canadian Journal of Public Health Supplement on School Health

Supportive Environments for Learning: Healthy Eating and Physical Activity Within Comprehensive School Health (External link) External link

The supplement contains seven articles that:

  • summarize the state of knowledge on policy options to support healthy eating and physical activity in the school setting;
  • describe the role of stakeholders; and
  • provide an overview of how to monitor and evaluate the implementation of school policies related to healthy eating and physical activity.

The supplement highlights the importance of integrating action on healthy eating and physical activity within a comprehensive school health framework. The articles include key findings from two scientific background papers. These findings were also used to support the development of the 2008 WHO School Policy Framework.
