Researching Your Aboriginal Ancestry at Library and Archives Canada

Part II: Using the Library and Archives Canada Web Site

Non-restricted Records

Microfilm

If the material you wish to consult is not restricted and is on microfilm, a copy of the microfilm reel can be borrowed on inter-library loan. Information about the loan of microfilm is available on our Web site. Non-restricted microfilm on loan can be copied in part or entirely at the borrowing institution.

Other Records

Information about obtaining copies of non-microfilm records is available on our Web site. The researcher must identify the record that she or he would like duplicated.
