Evaluating the American System of Cultural Patronage

Join us at the University of Ottawa to hear Professor Mulcahy discuss the evolving model of American cultural policy within the context of the economic downturn. Professor Mulcahy will address:

• The financial support of culture through both public and private expenditures
• Broad policies, new initiatives, and changes in priorities
• An examination of national and sub-national levels

The talk in English will be followed by an open floor bilingual Question & Answer session.

Who:                

Dr. Kevin Mulcahy is the Sheldon Beychok Distinguished   Professor in the Department of Political Science at Louisiana State University. Dr. Mulcahy’s research focuses on public policy with specific emphases on governments and the arts and comparative cultural policymaking. His areas of expertise also include American foreign policymaking and cultural diplomacy.
