Educated at the Royal College of Art in London, Professor Brown is presently Dean of the Faculty of Arts & Architecture at the University of Brighton. He has worked as an art director and graphic designer for many years, undertaking commissions for important clients. Bruce has published and lectured widely, at the Pompidou Centre in Paris, in Chicago, Germany, Norway, Estonia and Portugal. He has worked on many selection committees and juries and has been invited by institutions in the UK and abroad to advise on issues of academic management. Bruce has won research grants to study the Pre-Columbian civilizations of Peru and spent one year in South America working in the field.
