Visual Arts, Society, and the Individual

It is expected the students will:

  • Analyze how a society’s artistic expression reflects its culture
  • Demonstrate an understanding of different art movements
  • Identify the contributions of the arts in shaping Canadian identity
  • Identify art careers in a variety of contexts

Social Studies

It is expected the students will:


  • Explain the ways in which people preserve and transmit culture
  • Demonstrate an understanding of events as part of a chronological series
  • Demonstrate an understanding of Canadian culture

Information Technology

It is expected the students will:

  • Organize activities to make best use of time, materials, and resources
  • Investigate career paths in technological fields, and examine possible career directions
  • Demonstrate, independently and in groups, confidence and a positive attitude when solving problems involving technology
  • Consistently apply suitable and safe use of information technology tools
