Force Four Productions of Vancouver is currently creating a one hour documentary on Emily Carr for CBC's "Life & Times" biography series. Through archival images, interviews and dramatic re-creations, the program explores her life from the time she was a little girl to world re-knowned artist and author.
The "Life & Times of Emily Carr" will be broadcast on CBC this fall (1997). Air date and time to be announced. Force Four President Hugh Beard, who will direct the program, says that "...I really enjoy history but the fact that this documentary looks at one of British Columbia's greatest artists makes it that much more important to me."
The "Life & Times of Emily Carr" is just one of the programs currently in production by Force Four. "Grizzlies of the Canadian Rockies" is a one hour documentary on the fate of the great bear, being produced for CBC and Discovery Channel (US) and "You, Me & the Kids", a 26-part docu-drama series, will air on WTN (Women's Television Network) beginning in October. Force Four is also co-producing the "Life & Times of Chief Dan George" with filmmaker Loretta Todd which will air early in 1998.
